Traphine Kit

The Traphine Kit is a specialized surgical instrument set containing hollow cylindrical trephine burs in a range of diameters, along with the associated handles, connectors, and accessories required for bone core procedures in oral surgery and implant dentistry. Trephine burs are used for taking bone core biopsies for histological examination, preparing implant sites in extremely dense cortical bone that resists conventional twist drill preparation, and removing failed or fractured dental implants in a bone-preserving manner. Each trephine bur features precision-ground, sharp cutting teeth on its circular rim, designed to create clean cylindrical cuts with minimal heat generation and precise dimensional control. The kit includes burs in diameters compatible with the most commonly placed implant sizes, ensuring broad clinical applicability. A depth-limiting stop mechanism may be included to prevent accidental over-drilling.
