Urbical LC is a light-activated calcium hydroxide liner/base designed to protect the dental pulp in deep cavity preparations and direct or indirect pulp capping procedures. Unlike chemically cured calcium hydroxide materials, its on-demand light-curing capability provides the clinician with full control over setting time, allowing precise placement and adaptation before polymerization. Once cured, Urbical LC provides reliable mechanical support as a cavity liner and releases calcium and hydroxyl ions to promote formation of a reparative dentinal bridge. Its creamy, easy-to-handle consistency allows precise application to the deepest areas of the cavity preparation. The material bonds adequately to cavity walls and remains stable under final restorations, including composites, glass ionomers, and amalgam. An essential component of modern conservative pulp management protocols.
