3M Cavit G Temporary Filling

3M Cavit G is an advanced temporary cavity sealing material from 3M ESPE, combining the trusted Cavit chemistry with glass ionomer reinforcement for improved performance compared to standard zinc oxide temporary filling materials. Its pre-mixed, ready-to-use consistency eliminates chairside mixing, saving time and reducing technique variation. Once placed in the cavity, Cavit G absorbs moisture from oral fluids and expands slightly, creating an excellent hermetic marginal seal that prevents bacterial microleakage and protects the underlying pulp between appointments. The glass ionomer component provides additional mechanical strength and fluoride release, offering cariostatic benefits during the interim treatment period. Cavit G is easy to condense and adapt using standard instruments and can be cleanly removed at the subsequent appointment. Ideal for use in endodontic treatment between appointments, for sealing over medicaments, and as a temporary restoration following caries excavation. Radiopaque for easy radiographic identification.
